Ahead of the 2023 season how do you guys start your seeds? Do you pre-treat them, sow them direct in the dirt or start in pots, and what temperature do you germinate them at? Finally, when does your season start?

For me, I soak my seeds in a seaweed solution and direct sow tall varieties. I start the wide ones in a pot. I sow in early May, although I have gone earlier, with limited success. Growing my 5.6m, and one of the Mace seeds I picked up at Connecticut auction.

I haven't pre-heated, but sow direct with heated cable. I last sowed start April, but early May I think would be better. Also UK based

Hey Doug, trying soil heating cables for the first time this coming season. Might go early (April), stagger sowing and compare results. Good luck for 2023.
