I had a request on how to join Sunflower class today. So anybody who wants to Join Tallest Sunflower class go to membership page at Worldwidegiantgrowers.com .Fill out form write in comment box tallest sunflower with seeds. If you dont want the sunflower seeds you can check one of the seed boxs to win a different seed if you like.

It is very painstaking to add these veggie boxes to form so I may just leave it this way for now,When my computer geek comes to town I will change form. Please join,This will be fun!

I will add a sunflower members page this Sunday with purse posted. We will start at 150$ 1st 100$ 2nd 50$ 3rd
If we get 15 members I will increase the purse

any questions Mark@worldwidegiantgrowers.com

You will get your choice of Voodoo Juice/Piranha/Tarantula with the tallest sunflower class, just like all the other classes. or contests if you prefer.

Like the Cantaloupes and Maters. These dont have to be taken to a weigh=off.
I do need a good picture of sunflower while still growing with a person standing next to it.preferably with or on a 6-8-12foot stepladder with steps visible in photo. Also a picture laying on ground being taped.
We do want to encourage this hobby at all types of weigh=offs So there will be a 50$bonus on each prize(Top 3)
That are taken to an organized event.
Thanks for joining!Have the judge witness your specimen & document/Photo & get a 50$ bonus.

I thought I would place this here if any weigh-offs would like to use this to draw people to there site please do.

Also there may be a need to extend the season for are mates down under. The sunflower class will be extended to DEC.31st for sunflowers. In Brisbane they can start in September & get 100 to 120 days to grow. Were worldwide if its grown in 2014 it counts.

Awesome. Our Spring is September to December so not a bad time to grow Sunflowers here 12 September the day length is exactly 12 hours increasing by 1.4 minutes daily. I'm hoping this will be OK for sunflowers. It will be a learning curve.

So to be eligible for 2014 competition seeds have to be sown in 2014 or finish in 2014? I only ask as I have sunflowers planted late December 2013 which are currently getting rather tall for where I come from. lol

I think they have to be planted & finish in 2014 to keep it fair. You should only have 1 growing season. If you have 2 seasons They should be in the same year. This is negotiable if the majority tells me I'm wrong. So plant in Sept. harvest by Dec 31st Does that sound right?
