Picked the big one. Smelled ripe so didn't want to take a chance since it wasn't close to the record. Weighed 55.1 lbs
It really grew in the last 2 days & i was worried it would split. final numbers CC=59.5 , EE=38 , SS=34.5 EST = 58lbs
ACTUAL=55.1
the chart said it grew 3lbs last night, but I don't believe that. I think it just expanded while getting ripe.

I have more set(about 1 week old) so lets see if they can produce a second crop in cooler weather !

This is grown from the 44 Holloway. The cross is open, but this was my only lope plant.

Thanks for the seeds Jake !!

What a Lope! Congrats Chris, I'm glad they did well for you. You sure helped me out with melon seeds the last few years just glad I could return the favor.

We cut it up today,(too many criters being drawn to the sweet smell, i need some sleep) the bottom was nice & ripe. Had a great taste, sweet almost store quality ! The top was still somewhat green. It might have made it 1 day more, MAYBE. I think i made the right choice.
