The world record is the Robb 64.8 in 2004
I found a 51.5 Robb, a 50 SCHNICKER 06, & a 50 Edwards 06

Anyone know of any other big lopes? Is there anything in between the 51.5 & 64.8 ???

Thanks

Not hiding anything, it measures 54 lbs by the OTT pumpkin chart, still growing, but i don't think there is enough time to get to 65.

Kinda funny, the rabbits finally showed up. They have trimed all the tips on the plant at the edges. So the plant has put out new shoots where the rabbits have nibbles & set new lopes everywhere ! LOL

I think the second biggest cantaloupe has been grown by Mr G.Daughtridge in Rocky Mount, North Carolina in 1991.
It weighed 62lb.
I believe another one over 60lb has been grown but I forget the details, Jake, you know it , help us !

Well done Chris, over 50lber is already awesome !

Wow Chris, sounds like a nice one there. I tried to grow 4 plants this year my 50.2. a 49 pounder and the 25 Schnicker that grew my 50.2 pounder but with the 15 inches of rain in June took out all but one plant and it is stunted but have one set now but will be lucky to get to 20 pounds with that plant. Theres always next year!

Mr. Daughtridge grew several big ones in the 80's and early 90's. I think he held the record a couple of times. I have not been able to find out what happen to his seed line. I have heard that Bill Rogerson who lived in the same area grew a few over 50 and one 75 pounder that rotted on the vine. Don't know that for a fact, way before my time but makes for a good story LOL. I would love to find some of the Rocky Mount seed line if anyone knows about them.

All the ones I know of are listed, so you've got a very special lope growing. Coarse I wouldn't expect any less from Chris Kent!

Here are some of the Rocky Mount lopes
63.5 Bill Rogerson WR 1997
62 G Daughtridge WR 1991
55 G Daughtridge WR 1982 ?
51.5 G Daughtridge 1981
75 Bill Rogerson unoff

If they were growing lopes that big in the 80s who knows what that line would do.

Jake, seems that there should be some of that seed out there some where ???? in someones freezer maybe. Sure would be nice to plant.

Where did the Robb seed come from ?

Wayne, you can est the weight by working the pkn chart backwards some if you have to. Age is hard. I guested mine by taking a smaller one that i knew the age & matching up the size when it reached the older bigger one. Probally close but not exact.
