Slow forum, I remember bnot used to bring a lot of his enthusiasm for tomatoes here. I will only say this: I obtained a nice broadfork! I can hope for better results with my new toy.

Hi Brandon and Vern, I used my broadfork this morning to harvest 40 lbs of some nice red potatoes. I've got 2 other fruits about to go to the scale. It's been a dry, hot and humid summer where I live. We just recently had over 7" of rain. My plants are growing some big ones. Trying to be patient with the next week's forecast of 40s at night. Any suggestions?

I dont think the cold will bother them but you could put a grow light on them if the weather gets too miserable.

Little Ketchup is right on 40's should not bother them, just keep eyes open for any mold or mildew setting in.

Thanks all. I went out to my plots tonight and my fruits are growing. I did not even realize I had one buried deep on one of my plants and it is a pretty decent size on a megabloom. I need to go back and put the other three megablooms in their hammocks. Keeping an eye on any blight, mold or fungus that might creep up. My plants at home are doing OK, but seem behind...trying to be patient. Waiting, waiting.....ZzzzzzZzzzz...

It's been a weird year here. I went on the patch tour. The RMGVG grows this year are tomato and bushel gourd. Everybody's tomatoes are doing really bad. Something happened early that wiped out all the blooms. I seem to be the only one who got any tomatoes to set. I am the only one who hand pollinated. I did notice a huge lack of pollen this year. After the patch tour I've been asking around and it sounds like even those growing just eating tomatoes are having problems. When I weighed my tomato today I asked at the nursery and they said they have been bombarded with people who's tomatoes are having problems. The weather wasn't anything special this year but something happened.

Hey treetop. Glad you're on. I miss Marv too. 4 lbs. is good in WV, I got one 4.20 lbs. Had a hot summer, still have a couple fairly good size growing. Trying to learn the best way to cool down a 15 x 22 greenhouse for summers to come.
