I have some tiny plants that have large megas competing with a normal/better sized plant with no good first truss mega.
Any thoughts? I need to choose the keepers/ thin the plants. In hindsight I probably should have been doing some daily feeding to help get all the plants larger.

If I get a nice size mega on first truss, my curiosity takes over and I do the best I can with it like the rest of the plants. I've ended up with some weird tomatoes but it can help you realize what certain conditions nature can bring in the world of megabloomology..ha Actually it is a study with these megas. So many factors. Experience teaches and we're at the top of the charts in that study.

I chopped the large plant with no mega halfway down but didnt completely remove it. I did notice a decent mega in one of the side branches and of course it was one that I had cut off... go figure.
I didn't check the other side shoots closely... I'll leave everything the way it is until I can see & judge things better.

I have a runt 9.06 Brown plant with a great looking T1 baby mega. For me, it's a no brainer to let that puppy run.

Let em grow until you get a good mega, you need the foliage to get a big one any way. You can still get a big one on any other truss.my 10.2 wasn't grown on a 1st truss and the faults 11.65 wasn't grown on a 1st truss I believe.

The 1st truss megas I'm getting this year, they could nearly double my personal best!!! So far only Sutherland has the skill to get these things to set & grow... I'll post some pics.
