Congratulations to Tom Trombley for raising the bar. He broke his own Michigan state record of 6.775 pounds set this year with a 7.91 pound tomato.

Thanks everybody. I kind of switched things up this year with the tomatoes, and grew them under plastic in a 10 x 15 high tunnel. I’ve had major problems with blight in the past, and this coupled with a new area to grow seems to have worked really well, as my plants stayed healthy all season. One thing I believe I could improve on is keeping temperatures cooler in the daytime to delay ripening. I may try additional shade cloth and fans in the future to help with that.
