When tomatoes were only 8 lbs. I always wondered if a tomato could get much bigger because of it's soft structure and thin skin ? You have clearly shown that they can !!!

Dan, is it possible to post a picture of the 16.85 plant so we can see how big the plant was that grew the large tomato. Thank you Jim.

I'd be happy to post a picture if the plant was still standing, but unfortunately it is in the compost bin already. It was about 4'tall and about 3' across, nothing unusual, I'd say it was fairly full,it wasn't pruned down to strictly 2 leaders and nothing else.

Dan, can you give a guess what percent OM your beasts are sitting atop? I dont know if thats the biggest factor in your success, but still curious.
Great job, gotta say I dont often want to copy anyone else's success but I will definitely copy any growing info you give out.

Well since I've never had a soil test done it's purely a guess, I'd say it's not high or low but somewhere in the mid range, I don't do any tillage so I'm not incorporating a bunch of organic matter into the soil,so it might even be a tad lower.
