Not thrilled with the loss of some important growers...

I’m really not seeking to raise anyone’s ire... I’m really just trying to sort out the thoughts in my own head:

1) porkchop is not a bad guy, but he has a show to run.

2) he is a softie at heart I think

3) he should probably refrain from name calling

I hope these 3 things is enough to get us going in the right direction, and I hope that if we get going in the right direction, some of the offenses will be forgotten and the growers who have, understandably, opted out will see that things have really changed, and they’ll feel just as comfortable and correct about returning to the competition as they did about leaving it. I think that is the direction we should go. Let’s actively try to correct and address all problems.

We’ve lost not only some good growers, but we’ve also lost some good voices in how the competition needs to be run. I suggest that we try to get those growers back, but also respect their desire to not be part of a... let’s face it... highly imperfect competition...

Esheel, don’t get him goin... imagine this...you grow a 7lb behemoth...talk all kinds of trash only to get beat by over pound...ouch...that’s gotta be hard...and now have to plant on a third year plot for this contest? ..anyone ever get over 4 lbs on old worn out soil?...hope Qtip’s team captain can help him sort it out ...I’m feelin bad for him already...still pullin for him of course ...he’s got mad skills...he could get to 5...maybe...

I don't think it is going to happen Glen. Porkchop as team challenge organizer has the right to change format as he wishes. Biscuit,myself and anyone else also should have the right to withdraw if the format changes. When we removed ourselves from the competition, we did not call Porkchop any derogatory names. Unfortunately, that has not been reciprocated. I have received emails about this from several growers. So far none have been negative. I will leave it at this..I won't intrude on his challenge..but I expect that he treats those who chose to leave with respect.

hmmm...free...I suppose you think this competition is at the grower interest level it is all because of your work. It has been a combined effort of many, many growers on this board for many years. I know I have spent extra time promoting the joy of tomato growing..but my effort has been just a small part of the group effort. If trying to ensure an even playing field for all growers entering is sucking the joy out of it..then I am guilty. Name one suggestion I made, that was for my personal advantage or for the benefit of a friend, at the exclusion of the rest?

Bob and busicut saw jam Marley and corn husk on the same team and automatically went into a tizzy...standard procedure all freakin winter...I thought we’d be talking about how the heck to get them bigger in Arizona ...or what the differences are between growing at altitude compared to sea level ...get to know some of the new guys...but no...it didn’t turn out that way...it is BP ...I’m not a total idiot...but go back and look...read it all...I did...one consistent theme...always planned on allowing late joiners...and it was agreed to leave up to me to make fair teams for the late joiners......yes the draft was rocky...but if we did it my way from the beginning , it woulda been much more fun..believe me...
