Jerryg, Herd mentality has the watermelon record stuck at 350 pounds. A new grow who does not know/follow the herd playbook to growing giant watermelons could do grow something > 350 pounds using a new hybrid seed.

My plan this year is better watering system, better fertilizer/organic matter program (no more Miracle Grow type stuff), and better soil prep. Last year showed my deficiencies despite blowing up my watermelons when they were my personal bests.
