This may be an obvious light bulb over my head moment for me but I gotta ask. Was wondering how you heavy hitters over 227 ott est your weights. Do you simply add 2-3 lbs/inch to be safe & is that how they do it at the scales at a GPC event? Thanks

just add 3.8 lbs per inch after 227 and take a deep breath ! LOL

The chart that the GPC recognizes goes out to 251 ott or 424#’s.

Thanks Charles B, Nate, T Dreamer & Chris. Don't have a clue how far they will go as you all know too too well it ain't over till it's over or until I open my eyes and yes Chris...breath, lol. I measured earlier today and looks like another 6 lb day, that's 3 in a row at 55 dap. Removing 100% of the culls have allowed them to step up and hit it out of the park on numbers. Yikes. I may forget all about Fiona and start talkin smack about thee other two, lol. But you all know there has got to be somebody out there doing better than lil ole me!

Or you could turn that last thought around a bit. Someone has to be on top, why not you ? Everything has come together for you. We know you had one tiny little hiccup with the a mixture of chemicals for insects and fungus. But that is something you have learned from and a mistake you will not repeat. But most significantly, the growth of your melons slowed very little if at all. Everything is pointing toward a world record now and I am excited for you. I truly believe the only thing between Fiona and a world record is mother nature or an act of God if you will. She could coast in at this point and we all know that 6 pounds a day for a watermelon is very fast growth still going on.Bill and Marvin used to speak of melons that grew so fast they burst open But I think that is unlikely to happen. And, very surprisingly to me, you have no graft union to worry about.I wish I could be there to see it. If I could afford it I would fly there for the weigh-off. I hope you have a photographer and a videographer present for the big contest so this is well documented and shared with the world. I know it is no done deal but I just don't believe this is going to be the one that got away.Exciting times are here.
