In straight line length what are some of the longest melons ever grown?

Eastern Shore of VA

Jerry Vaughan had one about 45 inches a few years back.
Longest one I can think of.
Mr Bright had some long ones I believe.

I had a 218 lb melon two years ago that was 41” long. It was a 229 Edwards x 255 Mitchell

Mr Lloyd was talking about the 249 Bright making some long ones.

South Arkansas

The 262 Carson had a 42" straight length. It links back to my son's row that had a 47" melon. Robert Worley had a 46" watermelon. Dave, I think I still have some 46" seeds from my son's 1983 row if you want to try them.
