Growing a few of the older seeds in the collection this year
2469 Daletas
2517 Haist
1911 Urena
and our 1655.5 from last year
Going with the 2030 Squash, and have a few seeds of AG/Squash crosses from different growers that I might put in a small plot to cross with the 2030 to get some genetic crosses as well.
Other than that will have something from the other master gardener categories as well, but undecided on which seeds at the moment. Already tired just thinking about it, lol.

I'm not growing this season, however if I were...
I like Sam's Paton 2020 choice. I Hope you get a massive PB buddy. I also like Ben's and Dalton's 2245 Andrusz pick. Finally how could you not like the 2266 Kisamore.

Best of luck everyone

Any seeds WITH GOOD GENITICS (AND SHAPE) via top weighted kins from growers you trust can be a home run-Proven is usually best - take a chance on your own if you like the history and you know the cross is legit.

I have thought of the 717 Connolly, 839 Sandercock, 2003/2005 Haist, 1157 Zaychkowsky and the rest will be my own seeds to get more out of them than ever, for they are of decent potential 'on paper' and by thinking OF them as I would a 2365, they will get the best care I can offer. Sux 4 them! Hahaha - the rest, subject to change of all, will be my and others' FPs galore and I've not even looked at my Seed Book...Cooper, Daletas, oooohhh, a few Squash seeds...I'd better get crackin'! eg

97>>>If I had my own seed that grew a 2359, why would I grow any other, lol? There are usually a few 'warning shots' before the real deal occurs, like at a fireworks display;
Imagine if 2359 is a 'warning shot', EVERYone.

So many great line ups with tons of pumpkin power. Going to be real interesting to see what 2319 Stoeckl, 2266 Kissamore, 1965 Caspers, 1842 Hoornstra, 2388 Liggett, 2360 Montsma, 2140 Pritchard, 2198 Haist from 2023 will yield? Just to name a few. So many decisions.

Hey Danny, thats a great lineup for big and orange genetics. Are you going to do a diary?

Set in stone and I have a few of each-

1953 Daletas- She needs another chance after what I saw 2 years ago in my patch.
Gloria- 2183 Mendi

And one of my favorite people out there, 1977 Rea incase I have issues with my 2 others.

I feel these are both seeds I can push and after taking the year off to work on pushing back disease,,, I'm ready to go!

Hey Joe a diary hmmm good question see if my son can help me out with pics, etc. Don't expect any miracles from here we still grow them out in the "wild" here just like Howard did going back to the 1970s. However that list are some seed from last year I'm pondering upon as have some other previous solid seeds. My question to you is the 1845 Price seed? First I've heard about that one thanks.

3/30/2024 4:17:14 PM

spudder

The 1845.5 Price was grown in Virginia and weighed at the Tennessee Valley Fair (2907 x self) minus 10% . It was #112 in GPC stats
That is all I know about it!
