I've asked this question before but no one seems to know so I'll try again. I've had 6 giants in the patch so far and the year before last had a Wallace Whopper (not really big) that I let 20 pumpkins grow from. Those and all of my Giants have had rubbery green flexible stems. Anyone out there have experience with this?

All ag's have rubbery stems thats a trait of the species. The stems are gonna be green like Matts "squash" or a yellowish color depending on parents. Im guessing they can be more rubbery during the hot part of the day or low water conditions.Theyre gonna be less rubbery towards maturity.

Big Moon, that link didnt work for me. If there's photos there I'd sure like to see them.

cojoe - I dont think I've brought one to complete maturity yet. That could explain why my AG's are rubbery.
