Steve's 470.5 world record bushel gourd would be the equivalent of a 3211.6 lb pumpkin (if the equivalent margin of victory could be achieved in pumpkins).

I wonder what records will fall next year & by how much... Dream big!

13.22 lb tomato...

Pretty exciting numbers to try for.

I would argue bushel gourd could some day replace pumpkin weights. It took 75 years to get to 459 and only 10 years to get to 470.5 with bushel gourd.

I have always said 500 is possible with bushel gourds. Which is surprising... especially coming from me. I am a pessimist. For example I never thought we'd see anything close to a 2000 pound pumpkin. Yet here we are at 2600 plus. Steve Connolly really set the bar high. A monumental jump!

I challenged a lot of the BG norms this year. I think most of the ideas paid off.
