Congratulations to Jim Fredericks on growing a 1,705 lb behemoth and setting a new Southern California Record at the Irvine Park Railroad today!! and...he grows in about 300 square feet! WHAT?!!!

Huge effort in nasty heat with many 105-110 degree days! I am out of excuses LOL

Thank you for the congrats, I am humbled by how much it weighed! The guys in Socal are amazing growers. My hat is off to Chris, Kevin, Mike, and Vince. They do whatever it takes to help others out and I know for sure I wouldn't be the grower I am without their help and encouragement.

A special shout out to Vince in San Diego. He has helped me out more times than I can say in the past and present. I still remember when my health was so poor I did not have the strength to till my patch, and every year, Vince would come over and till it up for me. He is now the mad scientist who keeps improving my skills as I pick his mind and I truly believe has done more with his patch than anyone I know for the area. Enjoy the off season everyone!

the 980 Fredericks was a great Orange producer. I believe it was a progeny of the 1610 Lieber.

The 980 Fredricks was the first seed I grew 9 or 10 years ago and what a looker! To this day it has been the prettiest pumpkin I've ever grown!!

Now for the 1705,,, this couldn't happen to a better person!! One of the most humble growers I know!! The calls and the texts messages each week about how it wouldn't stop growing and how the fruit just kept putting on the pounds even when the plant was done!! God played big roll in this one blessing a humble and amazing grower!!!
You've pushed the bar high down here Jim and now we all know it can be done!!
Congrats my friend and I couldn't be more proud!!!!!

And in a tiny 300 to 500 sq. ft. patch,,,, man that's amazing!!!!
