I put Husky 6 mil plastic from home depot on my greenhouse this year. I got it because it was the exact size I needed to the top and ends of the hoop house. I have used 4 mil from the same company in the past and have never had a problem. My plant seems a bit yellow and not quite right and I am wondering of ot is getting enough light. I have noticed that when in the green house even in direct sun there are no shadows cast by things in the greenhouse. Has anyone used this product before?

I have 6 mil from home depot on my greenhouse for 6 years now.It stands up good in our harsh climate.I know what you mean about not seeming as bright but everything I grow does very well and would recommend it.

Always used it here also. lasts for years keeps my plants warm in spring time on frames. get it from RONA.

Have used it for years. Some of it is milky. It lets plenty of light through.Yellowing is prob. cool temps/soil.

Hey Charleston, how will greenhouse plastic thickness have anything to do with magnesium deficiency? I’m confused.

Hmm ok I guess that's not the problem. Magnesium numbers were high in my soil test. I did put some epson salts on a couple days ago at the suggestion of Cindy Tobeck. I have a heating cable keeping the soil at 75 degrees. And temperatures are actually warm than normal around here pushing 70 degrees all week this week. I sure hope it's not a disease issue.

How humid? The plants have to transpire to pull the magnesium in. But rotting or damaged roots could show yellow too...how is the growth if its growing and just a color issue it may not be a plant health issue. Weather has been good but heating the soil and having low night air temps might make it too humid at night? A fan or air heater might help. 75 seems to be into the range that fusarium likes. Maybe 60-70 might be warm enough. Lastly are you sure the cables are on? Mine had an issue where they decided to not work once they were in the ground.

I'm not saying it does just throwing out another possibility for the darker green you are seeking. I use 4 mil plastic but really don't know if 6 mil is an impediment.

Soil Temp...Nitrogen does not get pulled in cold soil. That is why we snow belt people use calcium nitrate

Great photo. We all worry like you when the plants are small and young. All will be well when May hits the Pacific Northwest. I think Cindy and Shannon are bang on with their suggestions but go light.

Yes Trying to get a jump for that September 4th weigh off. My other two plants are inside under the grow light and will be going in the ground this weekend.
