Rochester

For the last few years the county has been removing seaweed from a local bay to help out boating. It’s been rotting down over time and is called compost.anyone have experience using this material ?

If it’s fresh water I’d want to test it first but on face value it’s sounds it can work...especially if they are just giving it away...not an expert though

Ditto on the soil test. Depending on where it is from it could have toxins in it. Copper sulfate from years of Algae control, PCB's from local industry etc.

If the county is pulling it then they have a heap of environmentat regs put on them so its probably ok if mixed amd composted but i recommend some due dilligance on any thing you add to your gardens.
