Due to construction in front of our house ( a sidewalk ) I’m going to have to load up my pumpkin 10 days early.
I’ve read that weight loss ( to the kin) happens when a pumpkin is picked early.

Anyone know how much loss to expect in percentage?

Thanks Joe

Just enough for me to catch you, my last one is still doing 3-5 lbs a day.

Leave the vine attached to the stem, and stick it in a bucket of water, that will help.

Not usually more than a pound a day or so in my experience. If you can, i'd suggest having it in a garage or somewhere that stays cool and fairly dry until you're ready to go.

I'm coming to your island weigh off and my poor pumpkin has been off the vine about 30 DAYS! It might be a shriveled raisin by the time I get there!
