for the past couple years the secondary's,, after my set fruit start out fine but the tips end up shriveling up and dying after about 4 ft.. I realize they slow down when pumpkin sets but not sure why they are almost self terminating. Any thoughts? thanks!

My first gues is a nitrogen and calcium issue not enough before heavy load sets in and terminates grow tips.... high temps pow presto bango... to much nitrogen has I’ll effects as well I melted leafs off one plant for a few weeks to much nitro not enough calcium... tissue test is another way to ensure proper nutrition

Agree 100%. Its a mixed blessing... its good for the pumpkin to be a strong sink. But I think its the correct idea to want to push the secondaries more. More & healthy roots and a tissue test are the only ways I can think of to acieve that.
