Actually we have been cooler than normal for all of May and June with the exception of a couple short lived heat waves. Ya its better now, but for a long time it was keeping the plants in second gear.

I am terrible at rumor milling it. Watch for the normal players to be in the mix, Jim will take second unless I have the largest pumpkin by inches, in which case he will win and I will take 3 or 4th. Throw in a wildcard in the top 5. All this since Daletas isn't growing this year. That is the story of Oregon. I will say Washington will be a dogfight this year. Some long time growers are setting new growth records, and the normal players are doing well. California is its own monster, so I don't sniff out the people hiding monsters as much down there.
