My experience is good. They seem to have a much thicker blossom end.

They do fine. I would suggest putting a little fungicide on the nub just in case to prevent rot you can't see.

Maybe you can enter it in this contest and win $500.

Honestly North Shore, the last few posts I've seen of yours have been nothing but unprovoked negativity towards Brandon. Yes, he is extreme to his own corner of the ball, but he does not deserve to be trolled. Would be nice if you'd simply not engage Glenomakins if you have nothing constructive to say. He wants to learn, he just learns differently than some of us.

As far as the bum over blossom Fissssssh, I have grown completely covered blossoms before with no rot. The preventive fungicide powder is good advice before it is blocked off completely. If it has a cavity to sit inside, I would leave it alone. If it looks as if it will hit the board or soil and push upward into the pumpkin, you may want to remove it and try to dry it out before it's covered.

Good luck buddy!

In the past ive had to dig a hole next to the blossom end so i could check the blossom everyday. A little mirror sold at auto parts stores and a flashlight helps to check for issues. I also used a 3 inch fan to help keep it dry.sometimes you have to get a little creative with these things. Good luck.

Lol....I think you read between the lines too much Dustin. Encouraging Fissssh to enter a contest simply because his pumpkin starting growing on its blossom, was meant as an encouragement to Fissssh to keep it going and not be discouraged. I didn’t say anything untoward Brandon in my post...but you certainly did.
