Intellicast was the best... In my opinion. But theyve recently been consumed. Best forcast and maps and overall user experience?

I pay for Accuweather Professional. Pretty good but by no means perfect like every other forecast. If you want to take the time to go through all the maps you can get on the site you can make your own forecast. :) They are pretty good a week or so out. I don't know why they even do the daily one for 90 days.

You guys can see if this site is useful to you. Links to other areas may or may not work.

If anyone else knows of other options that no one has mentioned please post em.

Locally the Canadian Forces Base issues weather statements. All bases are linked. I would check with local US military bases, especially ones with aircraft to see if they issue weather statements. JIM (Statements to the general public that is.)

Us National Weather service has regional pages.

I like WeatherBug as my phone app. The Radar has a bunch of layers.

I still think local is the best since those guys get paid to look over just your region.

For outside the box especially with big storms, try finding storm chasing groups to follow. I follow a group called Missouri Storm Chasers and another called Tornado Alley Chasers and Spotters. Not sure if you have those up there or not.

Good suggestions Luke. There is a group linked to the weather channel. Jim

National Weather Service is fairly good here. I like that they also have flood forecasts for local rivers. Weather Underground has good radar.

But for tracking severe weather and tornado warnings, I like Channel 9 from Cedar Rapids. They have their own Doppler radar as well as cameras in quite a few towns. Back around 2006 we had a tornado warning, and their radar showed it along with all of the local roads. It was headed right for us so we got to the basement. It missed us by just 500 feet. 2 years ago they were tracking a storm that hit just north of us. Not only did the radar show it, but one of the live cameras in Cedar Rapids even showed it.
