So, it's awfully quiet around here and thought maybe we could get a good discussion going.

I'm trying to figure out the best methods to get a third plant into my patch next year. We planted three plants this year, and my wife said next year, I'm only allowed to do two plants because of the amount of work lol. I'm thinking, if I put a small plant in there for genetic purposes, I will be happier with the season (or possibly to fill in the patch if one of the other main plants go down early).

So what are the secrets to getting a decent sized pumpkin out of 150sq ft? I'm talking plant layout, and fertilizing schedule and type/amount, ect.?

I'm thinking of using something solid orange to add to the genetic pool, and if I decide to get fancy, maybe even grow blossom end down just for something different. Not sure yet.

So, what do you got for advice?

Dani and I are working on an article for the PNWGPG news letter about how we grew our 982 in 150 square feet. Definatly there are tricks and modified techniques to be considered.

Man oh man the things our women put up with. I know you can’t roll over and play dead but my advice is two plants... one for her one for you.

150 sq ft for you... and the rest of your patch is flowers... for her. Sneaking a third plant in? Blossom down?! This guy is way ahead of me...

Sorry for any distraction from the discussion. Adam, I guess we operate with snail mail so you’ll have to mail or email the form, but other than that you should be good to go with your new membership... Good luck next year.

Haha thanks Glenomkins! I figure, if it looks like a nice Cinderella pumpkin, it'll be a "present" for her too haha! Plus I get the genetics I want! I'll definitely send in the form.
