I would be disappointed if the experienced growers will not correct a incorrect answer. Part of the growing on this board is learning who tends to say the best answers. Many different experience levels here..i thought once, that I knew what I was doing, until reading everyone else's post convinced me that i am forever a novice.

Wixom...I am ready to dig...what is the best shovel. I know I have a friend that just bought a mini-excavator. My 7-14 inches of topsoil did good....should I go for 7 to 14 feet?

The growers with the best answers are competing against you for prize money, don’t expect corrective replies. I agree with the OP, to much bad information being spewed by first/second year growers. Even non-growers have answers this year...lol.

I must spend too much time on the tomato board. The most difficult competition there has also been the biggest help to me. I know that many of the giant growers are not afraid to share correct knowledge.

Best advice I ever got from bp is to find a experienced grower in your area and ask them all your questions - the BP community likes to take a simple question and give a grower 27 different answers, leaving the person even more confused lol - good luck!!!
