Growers of orange fruit-

As described earlier this summer, The St. Croix Grower's Association in collaboration with Stillwater Harvest Fest have initiated the Howard Dill Champion Traveling Trophy & $500 cash prize award.

This award will be presented at Stillwater Harvest Fest each year, voted on by non-competing growers present at Harvest Fest, to the prettiest pumpkin that best fits the essence of the Howard Dill award, chosen from HD award winning pumpkins previously weighed in that growing season and present at Stillwater.

We invite Howard Dill award winners from weighoffs anywhere to bring their HD pumpkins to Harvest Fest to compete for the HD champion award.

I've had a sneak peak of the traveling trophy...its big, bold, and shiny. Definitely worth showing off and owning some bragging rights.

Mandatory disclaimers: this award is not representative of the GPC's overall HD winner. HD winners from other GPC sites competing for the HD champion award at Stillwater are not eligible for Harvest Fest's largest pumpkin prize structure, per GPC rules.

Looking forward to this Joe. I wonder what is the furthest weighoff that will have entry show up. I am getting nervous...in about a week I will know if have the orange ticket to the show. If i do not..I will congratulate the ticket winner and ask if there is any way I can help them get their beauty to Stillwater.
I am assuming that we are sticking with the original idea and only the pumpkin is required in attendance-grower very welcome but not required to attend.

I think the crowd could be awed both by the heavy and the beauty this year.

Best of luck to you, Robert. And thank you for adding in that consideration- HD winning fruit must be present to win, but their grower does not.

This means if you can convince Fed Ex/UPS or your preferred courier of choice to deliver an HD-winning pumpkin to Harvest Fest's doorstep, it will be in contention for the HD Champion award.

This sounds like a hoot! I would love to bring mine but I am going to paddle it at the Elk Grove Regatta so its going to have a sizable hole in the top!

Would be fun to bring mne, But its to far and the 500 will not even cover the fuel cost.
