Would it work and be faster if the pumpkin and pallet are set on the scales. Then sling and lift the pumpkin and pull out the pallet by hand. Weigh pumpkin then lift it and slide pallet back in by hand.

If you have 2 machines, the logistics work best like this:

- Have guys harness a few pumpkins ahead of time (you'll need a guy coordinating smallest to biggest and 3 harnesses work best)
- Forklift brings the pumpkin to the scale, removes the one already weighed.
- Machine at the scale picks up the (already harnessed) pumpkin and sets it on the scale.
- Pumpkin goes back on its pallet after pictures, machine at the scale grabs the next one that has been brought during the weighing.
- Repeat until done.

I wouldn't set a pallet + pumpkin on the scale.

With so many people not cleaning their pumpkins bottom side, I don't think it would be a good idea to put the pallet on the scale and then lift the pumpkin to remove the pallet. When we check for bottom damage, dirt goes all over the place which would end up on the scale.

Some growers are bringing pallets that are bigger than the scales....lol

I can see where dirt could be a problem, but with the scales, I have seen pallet size shouldn't matter
