Please look at my last two diary entries. Am I measuring my circumference correct? Or, am I supposed to measure straight across the blossom? I’ve learned parallel to the ground at its widest point. I’m confused could someone help me out here?

I would say yes, according to what you are supposed to do. Your kin is unique. 1 thing we all get caught up in is how big they are ESTIMATED, that's all the Ott is, an estimate.

To add to my above post. While I believe the OTT is important, the main thing these measurements do is tell us, the grower, if it is still growing. It's more important that you do it the same every time

Thanks guys, I was pretty sure I was doing it correctly. I agree wolf, it’s just an estimate. This year verses my previous years growing I’ve taken measurements everyday. I utilize this info for far more than what it weighs. I’m keeping notes as to it’s growth verses my watering, fertilizing, and also fluctuations in temperature. Now as far as estimated weight goes, I want to be sure I’m taking the right pumpkin to the right weigh off.
I’ve watched that video before spudder, but it’s like wolf said mine has this weird shape in front.
