The last few days have been crazy it went down into the low 40’s one night and has rained a lot. Last night it began to let up and was finally warm. When I woke up this morning I found a crack about 1/8 inch deep and 6 inch long towards the blossom side. When I got back home it was about 3 inches longer and twice as deep the weird thing is the pumpkin doesn’t measure anything different from yesterday. Is there anything I can do? It seems dry. My weigh off is the 30 so should I just cut off the pumpkin now?

I just went outside it was a little longer and I could feel a little sprinkle. Will the pumpkin last if I cut it off?

Another 5ought I had was cutting off a large amount of the plant to keep the pumpkin healthy but not make it grow a large amount

I vote for leaving it on and trimming a bunch of secondaries.Keep a blanket on it at night, part of the cracking can come from temperature variation.

I agree sounds like cracking due to temp flux not growth so a blanket is your best defense. Just like for people , layers work best to insulate.
