What's eating my leaves? There are no tracks, so I know it's not deer. It is also happening during the day and only on 1 plant. I haven't seen any groundhogs, only ever had 1. I sprayed liquid fence last night when I noticed the first damage. I'm thinking crows, what do you think?

Are you sure its not deer. They wiped me out one year. Even chewed on my pumpkin.

I'm still saying no to deer. The plant is surrounded by plastic, there are hoof prints and they'd have to pass 3 other plants to get to this one. I'm setting up a trail camera tonight

I would say deer because the whole leave is gone
groundhog would be my next choice

with groundhog/woodchuck a apple in a haveahardt trap will do.

I’d say rabbits as well...if it’s been dry , leave some water out for them...

I have tons of rabbits and they are too stupid to get past any barriers which is why they have to breed so much. Also, I've never seen a rabbit take out a whole leaf like a good tasting chicken wing just leaving the stalk. I also say no to crows. Is there any signs of digging under the plastic?

That is a groundhog !!! Rabbits don't eat pumpkin leaves like that.

Trail camera is set up, I have a small live trap I'll set out in the morning and grab my big one to set out when I get home later in the morning. Edit to my last post: there are NO hoof prints

Looks exactly like the rabbit damage in my patch. I know the electric fence is keeping the groundhogs out, but I watch rabbits run right through it.

since no tracks, must be lightweight; i guess trail cam will solve all; i have a new pet woodchuck that had 'obviously' been my problem---in trying to peacefully cooexist, i put a lawnchair over my main vine tips with 2 crossed bamboo stakes in the way of any critter. maybe my 'message' worked, maybe not, but i have not seen any damage since 2 weeks ago--eg

Nothing new was eaten so I didn't pull the card on my camera. I have 2 live traps with apples in them. Part of me wants to catch it, part of me hopes that it moved on.
