Hello all, my pumpkin vines have been growing at a healthy pace and all of a sudden no growth at all last night. I foliar sprayed last night at about a 1/20 application of kelp. Everything else has been the same, and they routinenly get kelp. It was applied in the late evening .Plants were watered last night soil was dry this evening.
Is this common for abrupt growth stoppage? Nothing has been pollinated yet. I dont see any major issues i have a few leaves that look off, maybe some sunburn? Take a look and see what u think?

Have temps been below 60 degrees at night, sometimes plants will slow way down if they are

one nights measurement means very little. let it go a few days.could just be a mistake on your part. in over twenty years of growing i have never had a plant not grow for one night??? weather will cause a slow down at times but no growth seems very odd. pap

Yellow vine disease and heat will slow them real quick.

Hi Rick: So a few things I see, 1) your plants aren't real huge so small amounts of growth is normal 2) It looks like your tips are pointing skyward which means that either they have a disease or they are lacking some nutrients. My guess is they are lacking in something. 3) Every year is a learning year. If I were you I would start thinking about next year. Ask yourself how many plants do you want to grow and then map out a 30 foot by 30 foot area for each plant if you want to grow a true giant your plants are way to close 4) Get a good soil test right now 5) Add your soil amendments and compost right now into your entire area and start working that soil you need to start now so it will be perfect for you next year.
Best of luck!

Do you have a place where you can get some compost? If so go get you a few truck loads!

Rocky, compacted, untilled, unamended clay is a recipe for disappointment.
Use this year for experience, drop back and punt.
