A few days ago I had a 7 lobe female open on the mainvine of the 1912 Carter I'm growing. I'm thinking this is quite rare, at least in my experience. Do you think these females with a lot of lobes(such as 6 or 7) have a greater size potential than say a 4 lobe flower?

I have never seen one with that many lobes. You could try growing it to see what it does. I know I would.

awww, no pics or pollination? awww, awww, awww... if yer lucky, it'll happen again! recent posts suggest no literal correlation between # of lobes and eventual weight---a lot of theories and stories, though, lol---eg reminds me of a famous Western i saw as a child in which a villain was done-in by a 7th bullet from a rogue good guy; his last words were "A...seven....shooter...?..?".....eg

Early on it looks like the pollination took so far for the 7 lober. There is one pollinated(4 lobes) 3 leaf nodes before it, so I'll see which one grows the best as time goes on.
