Any tricks or tips to achieving a good aggressive S bend?
Planning on doing it at the hottest time of day so the vines are bendy & over the span of a few days but not really sure where to place my pins...

You can bend them very easily after the kin because the vine is so small. I start about 1 1/2' before the kin with a slight bend and then bend vine after the kin a little more aggressively and then bend again to straighten it. Once the vine thickens you can remove your pins. Im sure it depends on how big of a kin you plan on growing. More of a bend is better than less.
