Haven't posted in a while but following diaries. 90+degrees in Minnasota, 100 degrees in Iowa in May, is this normal? The latttitudes are not far off from where I am but we haven't got to 70 degrees yet and night time temps are in the 40's. Needless to say plants haven't laid down yet.

Wisconsin went from 70 days 40 nights last week to 95 days this weekend. They were record highs and going back to mid 70’s highs by the end of the week. Typical here is about 75/50 maybe. I’m pretty far up in WI though.

It is record high heat here, after the coldest April on record. A good 10 to 20 degrees above normal. It has also been dead calm here the past 3 days, even the leaves on the quaking ash trees have been still. My plants are just starting to run but are having lots of sunburn and heat stress. It is supposed to be back down to low 80's by Wednesday. The storm pattern so far is about the same as last year. Big rains in Northeast Iowa, drought on southeast , and normal here in east-central Iowa.
