Friendly reminder especially to all of us southern fellas. With the 80-90 degree weather it is time to start your bug/disease sprays.

If it's any incouragementm it's 90+ here everyday with showers, the diseases are raising their ugly heads, but started early with the fungicides this year and at present I got a approx 880 LB on one of the plants.:-))) Every year I find myself hunting the right stuff to treat downy mildew. :-(

I feel your pain Luke...Cold April, freaking hot May. I think I chose a good year to install a greenhouse. Plants are fine so far but lets wait for the 100+ weather!

Holy Pumpkin you need to take some pictures and post them online. Especially if you have some mildew issues. There are a lot of smart people who would be happy to help you out if they can. And 880lbs is great keep her grow'n!

Just a heads up for those of you who don't know. My understanding is downy mildew and powdery mildew do not over winter in your soil, they are however carried in by the winds. They may have a map that let's you know where they are popping up. You may have to do a little research to find it for your area.

Rick, I personally never see PM until late June here. Root diseases are terrible from now until late summer since temps are so high and we still are in rain season. An Actinovate drench and foliar is in the works for this evening.

ipmpipe.org is a/the website to track downy mildew in cucurbits. As of today, there have been no comfirmed cases.

Thanks jeff for posting the site, it may be helpful in heading downey mildew and powdery mildew off. I was looking at the outlook charts on the site and it seems like it may start in alabama. I'm blaming spence lol

Hey Luke, if you used Bravo with Weatherstik, you’d likely never see PM in the patch again if you added it to you rotation.
