Thanks Wayne They told me exactly the same thing, they also said there may be the odd one returned, and if this happens, just to resend it. Eddy

I had sent some seeds from Canada to Germany a few weeks ago and apparently they go through the US. US Customs opened the enveloped and seized my seeds, even though I put a customs sticker and labeled it as giant pumpkin seeds. They put in two official forms detailing that unauthorized seed traffic is getting worse etc. The very same day, I sent 3 other packs to growers in the US and they all got through. Go figure. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Go to near the bottom of this thread at the URL above; pumpkin seeds for planting have nothing to do with the FDA but APHIS instead. The chart I posted there looked like they didn't need a phyto certificate. HOWEVER, when I went to the APHIS site and started at the most updated Chapter 3, it took me to an older chapter 5, dated 2001, which is not current! Go to the pdf file listed in the last post to that thread and follow all the prompts and it NOW takes you to the recently updated Chapter 5, which ends up at Chart 5-7, which unfortunately says Prohibited.

To cut right to the chase? and go to the chart showing seeds are prhibited, I put the page from the APHIS manual here:

Don't forget, if you are using Zone Alarm Pro, and you get a "not authorized to view this" message click on Zone Alarm icon, go to Privacy and look for the site in the list, LEFT click on the Mobile Code column's RED "X" and choose "Allow" then reload or click the link again. This procedure works for any pdf file at any site. Amazing how many pdf files we may have missed because of this message.
