Ok guys, as most of you know, Tom and I are buds. So here's the scoop. This weekend was deer season opener, and I filled my doe tag. I sorda wanted to shoot a buck as well, but at least I got something. Next weekend is my Thanksgiving break, and I can do one of two things. I can either:
A - Go hunting more to try to shoot a buck.
B - Go visit Tom.

Let's weigh the options - deer meat is good, but I have my whole life to deer hunt, and I won't go nuts if I don't shoot a buck. Tom is my friend, and if I don't see him over Thanksgiving, I won't be able to see him until the week after Christmas (also I will have the chance to spy for the 501 lineage and other pumpkin secrets!) You can think up other reasons as well, comical if you desire, and state them in your vote...choose A or B!

Get Tom to drive up there and go deer hunting with you, or bring your gun and get a license and hunt in indiana I got 2 doe's the past two weeks. the weather has been so warm until the past two days im sure there are lots of bucks still out there.

so do what you want but don't get the two confused and take your gun to Indiana and shoot Tom... even though Thanksgiving is the time most Tom's are shot.

moondog - tom will not come see me again until i go see him, perhaps because his father won't allow it and thinks he's nuts.

kilr - we presently have 5 dead deer hanging in our garage. venison is not at a shortage.

nick - notice how i never said i "shoot a doe", instead, i "filled my doe tag" there's a difference in the form of 1 inch spikes. also, thanksgiving is the last weekend of rifle season.

gordon - a quick disclaimer - i am ultimately making my own choice, but this is fun. what else are pumpkin growers supposed to do all winter???

Well guys and ladies, I'm heading out later today to my uncle's in Illinois for the night, then I'm headed east to Indiana. I'm bringing my rifle but Tom's a little gun shy (and get this hunters...he thinks the kick from my .243 will hurt LOL) so I might have to show him how to shoot it.
