            | the gr8 pumpkin | Norton, MA | I was just looking at pics of the 1385 and the stem cracks must have been 3" wide at some places. Also on one pic where Dave is hugging his son you can see about a 10" long gouge or maybe an impression from the shade structure post. It's on the pumpkin to the left of the stem. Wasn't it a beauty though. | 11/18/2003 8:08:52 PM |

            | Gads | Deer Park WA | the gr8 pumpkin,
Good observation, I was at Canby working on the lift shift and had the opertunity to video tape the judges as they poked and probed the 1385, after their in depth probe inspection of the stem splits all the judges pronunced the fruit "solid". I am currently editing the entire Canby video which also depicts our humble growing season and should have the first copies ready for distribution in about 2 weeks.

            | Sequoia-Greg | porterville, calif. | I was at Canby also. I watched the judges look and poke, they really checked it out real good. It was solid. The orange color was awesome. The stem had some splits but I even looked there was wasn,t any kind of holes going into the Pumpkin. It was truly a great Pumpkin!!..Greg | 11/19/2003 4:44:52 AM |
