I do not have a truck so horse or cow manure would be difficult to get. A local nursery sells these two manures. Which is better? Thanks, Jeff

jeff,,,look at your yellow pages,,or on the compost bags, for the company location.
i can get a six wheeler dump truck full of musroom compost direct from the mushroom company for $200.
lol,$200 near my patch would get me tons of dairy manure.
uhaul rents trucks.
im sure there is a guy/gal or two near you that would love to make some $s delivering some pucky to you.
i know they have a horse ranch near you.
i prefer trade to cash.look around or inside,,etc..
the money you save can be spent on all the other things you need for growing,,,or just to warm ya pocket.

Grey worms live in garden soil. Red worms live in poop piles.

Horse is better. I hauled mine in 5 gal buckets the last 2 years. This fall I finally found a pick-up to use. Cost: gas and a wash.

JeffL,
Just to clarify... your local nursury sell 'these two kinds of manuer' or 'these two kinds of compost'. I can't tell if you are asking horse VS cow manuer? Or Mushroom vs. Leaf compost (from subject title)?

I'm not an >1000 grower, so maybe I chouldn't chime in, but ws just curious what you were asking?
