It's a 940(98) Mombert x 712 Kuhn...seems like a good one

Dave Wronski, Sterling Mass. grew a 794 pound pumpkin off this seed.It had been cut off the vine for two weeks prior to being weighed due to vine rot. It was 10% over the charts.

Since I have three of them I'll be putting one in my test
patch this year.
We'll see what happens.

I haven't heard from Dave Wronski in a long time but I just sent him an email to see how he's doing. He was fighting
cancer the last I spoke with him.

I grew the 646 Pukos this past season. and grew a beautiful 794 pounder (and it was cut 2+ weeks prior to weighoff so it was even heavier), HEAVY, big ribs, allot of webbing and a nice medium orange pumpkin in color (slight Dill ring but caused no problem). It went 10% over the chart and it was even more than that if I had a way of getting it weighed when it really stopped growing. I figure it lost about 14 to 20lbs. prior to being weighed.

This plant was a great strong plant, it threw females every 12 to 18 inches on the primary (perfect 5 to 6 segment flowers) and the secondaries were throwing females every 12 inches (all perfect 5 segment to 6 segment flowers). I have never seen a plant throw so many female flowers and all perfect and I have been growing AG's for 8 seasons now.

I crossed it with the 582 Hester (and we all know how highly respected this seed is).

This plant was all of 400 sq ft due to the fact that it was to only be a pollinator and I didn't have much room for it. (it was a modified 'snake' pattern pruning). Yet it produced a very strong plant and great pumpkin.

If anybody wants some of my seeds, let me know. I think it is a great cross with great potential. I can be reached at [email protected] or [email protected]
I can even e-mail you a picture of my 794.
