I am pleased to report absolute success with every small animal that might get to your pumpkin, in the patch as well as carved, while on display. The working trick is to use Liquid Fence....as per label instructions.

We suffered damage. We then sprayed the Liquid Fence up ten inches and all around the display pumpkin. At the same time we made available the clean up trimmings untreated. The coon came back. The trimmings were cleaned up and the display pumpkin was left alone. It was not that the coons were satisfied. There were more than a few. A mother and four yearlings were seen there with the likely count of more adults.
