Does anyone still have Punkins in the ground? I planted again the first of September. I have (3) going strong. Question? What are fall/Winter pumpkins like?

I have two weighoffs to go and my daughter and I have four fruit in the patch. No frost yet, but growth is negligible at this point. Powdery mildew is rampant in the patch, except for the new growth. Some of the plants are still setting fruit. It got to be too much to try to terminate all the new growth in September. Daylight is getting short fast, not much left to push them. Another 10 weeks we'll be down to less than 9 hours of daylight at this latitude. It's tough to get anything to grow well this so little daylight. I imagine the new leaves would be huge though if I did keep them going that long. If you have any frost though, they will be history.

i've still got a plant growing with a pumpkin on it... but it's been in the 80's for the past two weeks. so there is no reason it still shouldn't be growing - except for less light. but soon a frost will come and that will be that.

I have 3 squash and 1 pumpkin still growing. All are in the 100 lb range and still cruising.

We had a frost two weeks ago. Since them it has been 80's just as G1T said (above). My expectations are low, just trying to get a few medium size ones for Halloween. And a few hundred 'practice' seeds.
