Friends, Hope to see you all at the 2nd annual Central Market Weigh-off on Sat. Oct. 11th. Registration starts at 8:00 and the event begins at 10:00. We decided to go with a 1 hr. later starting time this year to give growers more time in the morning and to make the event more "spectator friendly". I communicated with Rick Pedersen today. They will be setting up a large tent this year in case the weather does not co-operate. Stan will be delivering the scale, his entry and the carving pumpkins on Friday. Note to Russ & Pam: Your carving stock will be pumpkins of 729 lbs. and 689 lbs. This will be a fun time for all. Everyone please invite family and friends to make this a really special event. Thanks, Joel

Hey Stan, to bad you picked the wrong weekend to compete with the Whidbey Island Giant Pumpkin Contest. We'll have all the fun, plus we'll eat free pumpkin pie from our "Best Pie of the Island" contest. Good luck to all. Lee
