I am writing a report from Topsfield 2003 for my website. The only problem is i wasn't there. Could you help me? Please write some useful informations like: how many growers came there, what time did it start/end, what were the moods etc.

Partial Topsfield update: 62 registered entrants. Couple
no -shows, 5-7 walk-ins. 14 pumpkins over 1000 lbs. Pretty
awesome spectacle seeing so many large pumpkins in one place! It was raining outside so the arena stands became packed pretty tight. It was a great time for all in attendance.

It was a historic day..13 pumpkins over 1000lbs at 1 weighoff is quite a show..The weighoff began around 9:30 with 70 pumpkins and their growers in attendance and ended at just about 12 noon. It was obvious when pulling into the areana that this was no ordinary year at Topsfiled..All the monsters were positioned on the right side away from the scales as usual. The husband and wife team of Geoffrey and Tammy Pierce weighed fruit of 1213 and 1186 respectively. Probably one of the biggest highlights was 14 yr old Katie Jenkins weighing in at 1005 lbs..and yes, she grew it and cared for it all by hereself with some great coaching..BTW, it was grown off the Beachemin 878..
All in all a great day for pumpkin growers everywhere...tough to compete up here in New England with results like today...
