Just wanted to get a general "sound off" going for everyone heading to a weigh off on Saturday the 4th.
List your name or handle and site your destined for.
Include anything else you want to share like the OTT, or weight of the fruit you are bringing or how long it will take you to get there.
Ya'll be careful loading and driving to your favorite weigh site. Have a great time and enjoy yourself.

tomorrow should be interesting, my first time loading big'ns. i am loading up gus and jb, estimates of 585 and 650 respectively. i will be heading an hour north to Didier Farms in Lake County Illinois. loaded a 225 pounder and delivered it yesterday. all went smooth except for when one friend decided to grab the stem as a handle when sliding it forward on the tarp...snap. i forgot to tell them so i am glad it happened yesterday. tomorrow i will announce to all lifting helpers to stay away from the stem and blossums.
i wish everone here the best tomorrow. you are all great people, and i am honored to have met and communicated with you all over the past 2 years.

I will be headed to Noblesville Indiana for the Gatewood Vegatable farm Weigh-Off. It takes me 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there I will be taking my 840 Desrosiers pumpkin estimated at 138 pounds and my fruit off the 685 Girgus estimated at 138 pounds. My biggest question is which one will weigh more they both look heavy.
Good Luck, Mikkal

All loaded and ready to roll...
Headed to Smoky Lake Alberta. About a nine hour drive for us, so the wife (Mrs. GV) and I will be off first thing in the morning arriving tommorow night in Smoky Lake. Taking two squash 550lbs and 700+lbs plus my pumpkin 500+lbs.
The two squash both beat the provincial record of 261.0lbs so it turned out to be a good season, plus all the fruit have excellent crosses so we hope to retreive lots of seed from them. The 856 Hester was an 895.5 Hester sibbed and was crossed back to the 895.5 the other is an 895.5 self. My pumpkin is a 1230 Daletas x self and the wife's 727.0 Pearce DMG is a 1337 Houghton X 1230 Daletas (1337 = 845 Bobier x 712 Kuhn, 1230 = 705 Stelts x 846 Calai).

Headin down the road, pickin up my parade partner DocGipe in Williamsport, he should easily recognize me, I will be the one with the MONSTER in the back of the pick up... He was officially named today... "THE JOLLY GREEN GIANT" by the neighborhood... I cut all the secondaries and leaves off the plant tonite, wil do the final cut tomorrow at 3;45, and my load team of 10 guys are coming at 5:00. Excitement abounds..
Only the worry of the bottom and the accident free load remains as hurdles!
Good luck to all

We loaded my 898 up to take to Altoona, Pa. thursday night. Got a 300 plus mile trip to make. Leaving Friday morning. But what a night to load it. Snowing out, plus lots of rain in between times. Everyone was soaked. Polka Dot, I have a scales and i'll say she goes over 700 My Lady. I'm happy with that seems like many have gone down and we have had one bad summer with tons of rain and not much sunshine. I hope we have a safe trip and we'll enjoy all the kids on the way when we stop for gas or coffee to get there picture with the big pumpkin. Wish you all the best of luck and a end to 2003. Got the trailer picked up last night, I'll be headed with my daughter to Lee Farms in Tualatin Oregon. I'll be loading them tomorrow with my new lifting partner Mr. Kubota. I'll be bringing Molly's pumpkin Lakota, Big Momma, and Pokey the squash. Two in the trailer and one in the pickup bed. I'm holding Lewis out of this one, it's close to 700 lbs by the charts and I'd really like to hit that mark for the first time so I'll keep it on the plant a little longer. One nice thing about the PNWGPG is the club has arranged for 5 weighoffs in the region this year. Lots of options here. I've already had two fourth place finishes this year and I'd like to improve on that. Even if I lose the rest of them in the patch by waiting, I can call this season a success.

We're loading the trailer tomorrow with a Mombert 859 and headed for Lee Farms in Oregon... about a 2 1/2 hour drive. OTT = 268 inches. Should be a PB barring any surprises on the bottom of the pumpkin. My sweetie arranged for lots of loading helpers but it is too stressful for him to personally participate in the actual loading process... what a hoot. Safe travels

Hey Chris.....How much horsepower does that Kubota have? Might need every one of them to lift that pumpkin of yours!! :>) I'll be leaving for Lee Farms early tomorrow morning with the club scales and a Kuhn 1020 that's in the 350"++ range. I'll get the scales all set for the "BIG" GPC weigh-off this weekend. Gonna be an exciting time and fun for all!!

CEIS, we just had a helluva BBQ harvest party, my 6 man crew was awesome they got my 350+ ott pumpkin on the pallet pretty easy, then we had a beer break (or 2) and went to work on the 345 + ott 895.5 Hester they were all thinking I must have filled it with water even my Cub Cadet 36hp deisel loader would only lift it up about 5'!!! The tractor has a loader rating of 1450 lbs... Not saying it weighs that much as the pallet is a couple hundred, the fork attachment 200#, but I think it will go HEAVY. Off to Canby Oregon to play with the big boys!

First its off to Brigittes house to Roll her pumpkin down the hill on to the trailer. After she kicks my butt, probably with the help of April. Back to our house to load "BLOSSOM" and "Snowball". Then time to sit back and relax. Drink a few "Honey Weiss" and eat some smoked BBQ ribs. Then up at the crack of dawn. 2 1/2 hours to drive to Nekoosa. Good luck to everyone..Had a great season.. AS of yesterday the 790 had an ott of 325 for est weight of 704. I will know when we lift her how the bottom hold out.Kenny I hope your 845 hits in the high 800's for you to get the first 800 grown in Utah. Good luck tomorrow and have a safe trip.

I got "The Beast" out of the garden lastnight with the help of 5 neighbors. We even had a cheering section as the wives watched and gave recomendations on proper technique.
Its in the garage now on a pallet. Plan A for loading it onto my truck will not work. My Dad is on his way over this morning and we will load it using plan B.
The other pumpkin at my in-laws is getting loaded tonight. Its only half the size of "The Beast" so I'm hoping for a easy load. I will build a device like the one pictured in Randooos diary for next year, excellent idea Randooo.
Its a good haul for me to Nekoosa Wi. for the weigh off. Leaving Appleton at 6 a.m. A stop in Dale, Wi. for Breakfest and a bloody mary. We should be in line at Riverside park by 10 a.m. I hope.
All you BP.com-er's will have no problem spotting me. I have a 1979 GMC pick-up thats brown, gold and primer gray. I will be pulling a trailer that looks as bad as the truck. Dean

I'll be loading up in about 4 hours or so to go to altoona. wasn't a good year at all for me, just hoping for top 10 with the pumpkin, and top 3 with the squash. i put my name into the squash contest, but with the poor preformance of the plant, never posted anything. almost pulled the plant in august, but i have a nice green one that might be close to 500 pounds. going to elmira on sunday, too. hope to see a few of you this weekend!

Well we got everything loaded this morning. We had a problem with the 805. The stem popped off but I was only bringing it to get a weight of it. Ben Dale Fisher said that he coudnt tell how heavy it is :) . I looked under the 790 when it was lifted and what a strange bottom it has. Not flat but concave shaped. Its nice and solid though. They are all shrink wrapped and ready to hit the road tonight. Ben see you tomorrow morning....
