This is my 4th year growing. Each year I can look and see mistakes that I have made that might have caused me to have a "not so great" pumpkin. But every year I'm learning and every year I still have a great jack o lantern for halloween. And last but not least, I'm having a great time growing these and interacting with all the people on this list. I'll be harvesting my crop soon and will post some pictures. Then, just wait til next year!!

I'll second that.
My second year & there are still many things I need to learn about growing these giants. Just need a few more years of experience, a free source of manure, more time out in the patch and an acre or two.

Love that attitude...I'm in my third year and still think I'm a few away from getting good at it...so much to learn but progressing..next year into the 500 lbs...then look out!

i hear ya brother. my second year and have learned a lot since last year. mostly by making mistakes. the most important thing i have learned this year is that no matter what mother nature dishes out, take it on the chin, get up, and keep fighting the good fight. mother nature is out of my control, so i will not fret on her activities, but learn her patterns and act accordingly before and after her outbursts.
also stay out of the patch when i come home from my favorite watering hole here in joliet, Bobby's Tap. LOL.
