OK I dont have a huge one out in the patch. Its nice sized, beautifully round and great color. I keep having the reoccuring dream, that when we pick it up the bottom falls out. Then there is the one that by the time we get it to the weigh off site. It has tranformed from a thing of beauty, to something you dont want to put your name on. Just wondering how the big boys are sleeping. Shannon

My wife keeps telling me not to bring the pumpkin with the hole in it. I keep telling her its my personal best and I want it offically weighed.

The other night I was laying bed thinking about last year at Nekoosa. There was this woman who put her toddler on top of my pumpkin and took a picture. I fell asleep and dreamed the same thing happened this year, except the kid fell into my pumpkin. I woke up and thought maybe Rebecca is right and I should leave that pumpkin at home. You all know what a awful smell that is from a rotten pumpkin, can you imagine being a small child inside a rotten pumpkin.

Well after a few beers and some serouis thinking I decided I'm still bring my pumpkin with the hole. If some kid falls in it, tuff luck. Plus theres a river real close by, I can throw him in and clean him up.

Just a few more nights of weird dreams.....I hope....Dean

I forgot to mention. I already picked my back up two weeks ago. So I believe this is the reason for the dreams.

i'm just worried the freakin mice will have a big den under mine with the whole bottom chewed out. they already disintegrated a pile of extra styrofoam pieces into tiny bits. if the frost gets it that would suck too, but with all the blankets it's got on it, it's toasty warm. i have been having some funny dreams lately though.

the pumpkins will be fine shannon, i'd be more worried about the squash in the trailer behind our car. ha ha.

Hey Shannon my worst dream has been the 805 and your tush. lol No seriously though I keep dreaming that I will go out into the patch and something will have eaten my 790. 4 days to go until I am somewhat sane again.

Brigitte the mice are doing you a favor and insulating the nooks and crannies the blankets can not reach.

Cary if that 805 starts smelling funny its from the tootsie rolls. April would warn you about this.:) Unless Joe Ailts's elephant headed west I dont think you have to worry about anything eating your 790.

Dean I would think hard about bringing the one with the hole. Nothing worse than a stinky pumpkin. Plus Nekoosa has no showers. Brigitte and April will not have extra clothes.(pay backs are hell)

likewise shannon, i think you might want to think about bringing a second pair and some shampoo besides.

It's getting pretty exciting, that's for sure. The scary part for me is the loading of the pumpkin. The frost is something I wish we didn't have to deal with these past few nights. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the weighoff. After all our hard work, I hope that everyone is pleased with the weight of their pumpkin, and that we have good weather. The giant pumpkin drop should be fun to watch, and seeing Joe's monster hit the scale will be a high point.

Hey Billy, I hope the scales go up to 2,000 lbs. LOL Al

Dave Stelts moved into the house next to me. He brought me an 801.5 clone. I refuse to go to sleep anymore. Time to put on another pot of coffee.

I'm sleeping like a baby, THIS year. In fact I won't even need any help loading either! German pumpkin, THAT Dave Stelts is an imposter, the real one moved to a place a few miles from me!

yep, not much good sleep here. I fear vandals coming into the patch and ravaging my baby. Its already happened elsewhere in wisconsin. Considered putting up barb wire and bear traps for security...and Ebay has those imposter survailance cameras with the little red blinking light on them too....oh and the neighbors got a huge dog i was thinking about borrowing...and Im also taking pee's around the patch to scare away the deer and other critters...dont forget the 6 blankets im using to cover it up at night....did i mention ebay has fake survailance cameras? I guess you could say im a "little" concerned.

Joe, Keep an eye out for a little girl that sports a .243. She has been known to go into other peoples pumpkin patches late at night. LOL.....Dean

I believe she is as deadly with a bow, as a rifle. I have seen the results of this when I pull in to her driveway. She is very, very sneaky. I remember having a mutant squash vine borer in my patch this summer. HMMM!!!! Isn't Tom Beachy coming to Nekoosa.. She could be his Paid Pumpkin Patch Assassin.

no fear shannon, i can hardly hit anything with a bow. i do have to sight in my shotgun soon for turkey season though. and by the way, tom's paying me in seeds. you'll know you've been hit when you wake up one morning and there's a flamingo in your patch.

yeah so i wake up this morning and some punk azz mofo's rolled two ~200lb fruit into the ditch from the display i have set up at the end of the driveway. One of em is wrecked. I think im gonna sleep in the patch tomorrow nite. I may be placing a call to the national guard for back up as well. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO just once I'd love to catch those efffers with my paintball gun.

joze, they rolled mine last year and it made it all the way across the street and blew up. i have a floodlight
and motion detector that trips off a camara that tapes
for 10 minutes each time the line is crossed into my garden.
it won't help if they smash em, but the prosecution
of the offenders would ease the pain. and then the story
will make the paper detering those idiots of trying it again
once they know they are on tape and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

i also have signs saying video survelience, you are on tape
at my garden entrance.

for 500 dollars, it helps take away the fear of vandals
and puts the mind more at ease.

high voltage signs kept the scum from kicking in some doors in a baaad part of detroit.

either a pressure switch or a magnetic switch under the pumkin tied to a "in your face" alarm horn might help.
recorded shotgun blasts can help.

the video is a great idea.
sams club sells the monitor and cam/cams for about the best price.
unless you are in the alarm biz.
i find fear keeps most "punks" out of your zone.
