some i know were wondering how a rookie grew a 900lber the largest grown so far from the 1047 cox seed. well i used a product called megagrow. it is a formula of basic gibberillions (growth hormone) which were not seperated with alchole. i tried it on my leaves but it made them to long to support themselves and burned them if not put on in the night. but i did put it on the vine and pumpkin it's self and diffenently worked for me, i used it ever other day. greatest growth in pumpkin happened in the nights i sprayed it. the reason i'm telling all now is because they sponcer me now and i shall be on their website soon. like i said i liked it for the fruit not the leaves. if you do get some please mention my name sean turner from the bahamas. if you get some and works for you great if not please do not hunt me down. like i said it worked for me

Sean, Did you use only the "spray"? Did you also use the "concentrate"? The spray seems mighty expensive if one has 10,000 sq.ft of plants.

peepers like i said i did not like the effects it had on the leaves (made to long, but i bet it would do great after the leaves are maturex) so i used basically on the fruit alone. that towl soak idie mcpumpkin sound good. i used the concentrate, once it's dilluted it's only .1% giberillions. the web site is www.megagro.com

i just saw my own testemonial on megagro (i never wrote). it is slightly misqouted (taken out of context) i'm only a slight celebrety here in the bahamas. and that most say it's next to impossible to grow very large fruit this far south.

Sean, How large was your patch? Did you just dilute the concentrate and spray it? How much of the product did you use for the growing season? I understand that you only sprayed the vines and the pumpkin, correct?

Stan the plot was 20'x40'. yes i diluted the concentrate and sprayed fruit and vine (the vine near the fruit and the roots near the fruit). i found it made the leaves to long and they would not support themselves so i discontinued spraying the leaves after a week. i used about 1 1/4 bottles of concentrate for the 50 day growth of the 1 fruit

Snake oil or not...I got the 'heads up' from Mr.T a little earlier this year. In 15 yrs of pumpkin growing I've broken the 400lb barrier all but once. This year 4 of my pumpkins "will" weigh over 400lbs (one of which was grown in a 10X15 ft plot in our subdivison.(and that's total area foliage and roots were allowed to grow). The other 3 were watered all but twice in a relatively dry summer. Given optimum conditions there might be an edge here.
