get a screen tent over your pumpkin...wash the leaves down, my gradfather used some pepper and ???,,, he used a babys hair brush to scrub and paint his watermelon plants!! and lay permrithin(sp?)soaked newspaper(unprinted is best) around the plant on the soil. i had a neighbor who used a weed torch and sheetmetal "screens" to scorch the soil!

Bang em with sevin or another insecticide containing permitherin (spelling not a strong pt;) Just a different spin on an isect, pretty easy to kill when young. I'd do it before you get a 'non mutant'. Mcpumpkin had a good idea with the news papers.
