Just heard a news report this morning on the radio- Winston Wycoff is taking a 1200 lb + to Barnesville today. Then again, how often are news reports correct? We shall see- all I know is, there won't be a record coming from my patch this year!

Kurt, It was also on the front page of the akron beacon journal with a picture of Mr. Wyckoff and his pumpkin. This article can be found at www.ohio.com.

Congrats to Winston ...It's scary I've only been doing this 3 years and records were beat by a few pounds seems like now a hundred pounds is not unheard of..Is it the genetics or the number of new growers...I know the old timers are doing a great job but seems to me the number of plants in the world are getting up there too. I only hope, come those first 2 weeks of October maybe someone here at BP.com will have that magic number!!! Great job to all the BPer's hope you all hold your state records soon!

That 1279 is huge, but... have you seen what was under Jerry Rose right arm in Sir Pumpkin's diary? I have the feeling that the Ohio Record is going to be broken again soon, and not only Ohio Record...

I agree Don! I am surprised that there were not more comments on that picture. That thing looks huge !
